How AI works in Fashionate
Fashionate uses multiple AI models from different providers to power its features. This page explains exactly what each model does, what data it receives, and how your privacy is protected.

We tell you exactly which AI model runs each feature and what data it receives.
Your data stays yours
We never sell your data or use it to train public AI models. API providers process data only to return results.
You're in control
Opt out of AI training signals, delete your data history, or close your account at any time from Profile → Data.
AI feature breakdown
All AI suggestions are generated, not curated by humans. Results may be inaccurate — always apply your own judgement.
Wardrobe Scanning
Claude Sonnet (Anthropic)What it does: Analyses your clothing photo to extract category, colour, brand, fit, material, and style tags.
Data sent to AI: Your photo + a structured prompt. The photo is not stored by Anthropic beyond the API call.
AI Stylist Chat
Claude Sonnet (Anthropic)What it does: Answers outfit and styling questions using your wardrobe, upcoming events, and style profile as context.
Data sent to AI: Your message, wardrobe list, recent events, and style preferences. No raw photos are sent unless you attach one.
Shopping Suggestions
Claude Haiku (Anthropic) + Google Imagen 3What it does: Identifies wardrobe gaps and suggests specific items. Imagen 3 generates illustrative product images.
Data sent to AI: Your style profile (gender identity, age group, preferred style, colours, body shape) and wardrobe category list. Actual images of your clothes are NOT sent.
AI Try-On
Fal.ai FASHN v1.6What it does: Composites a photo of you wearing a selected wardrobe item using virtual try-on AI.
Data sent to AI: Your uploaded person photo and the wardrobe item image are sent to Fal.ai for inference. Fal.ai does not retain images beyond the processing session.
Content Moderation
Claude Haiku (Anthropic)What it does: Checks uploaded images and chat messages to ensure they are safe and fashion-related before processing.
Data sent to AI: Image thumbnails or short text excerpts are sent for classification only.
Outfit Mood Suggestions
Google Gemini FlashWhat it does: Suggests outfit combinations from your wardrobe based on your current mood, weather, and upcoming events.
Data sent to AI: Mood label, weather context, upcoming event titles, and wardrobe summary.
AI Accuracy
AI-generated suggestions — including outfit ideas, shopping recommendations, try-on results, and wardrobe scans — may be inaccurate, biased, or inappropriate for your context. Fashionate AI is a creative tool, not a substitute for professional styling advice. Shopping suggestions show AI-illustrated style ideas, not real product listings — prices and availability are estimates only.
